UNTITLED UI/UX ART TEST
Spring 2024
No, the title of this piece is not a joke. I genuinely could not put a name to this art test at the time of me having been assigned it and I still have nothing after all this time. Contextually speaking, this art test was technically more an academic project (specifically for my game portfolio class at the time) than a personal project, but even so I was proud enough of the outcome of this art test that it had to be included alongside the other projects that I’ve created and collaborated on. I’ve come to enjoy instances such as this art test where I can utilize my knowledge of the UI/UX design pipeline to create a concept of a potential passion project out of a simple (or rather, simply complex) challenge!
For this art test, I was tasked with creating all of my assets inside of a vector graphics editing software of my choice (I went with Adobe Illustrator for the creation of all of these assets) and implement the assets I created onto a set of provided images as well as develop an asset sheet to show off each and every one in detail. Majority of the assets only required some simple shape blockouts, but for some of the specifications that I wanted to include (mainly weapon and ability icons), I ended up finding specific objects that fit my vision and tracing them by mouse (which is in my opinion easier than it sounds, especially if you have the DPI settings to support it!).
